A carpet training programme for providing supplemental income for economic upliftment of underprivileged women in the rural areas of Chandrapur District, Maharashtra, is underway at four (04) talukas (i.e, Pombhurna, Mul, Saoli & Bramhapuri), where 02 nos. of Common Facility Centers (CFC) were set up for providing handmade carpet manufacturing techniques to rural women's in order to engage them in the production of handmade floor coverings as an alternate livelihood. This empowerment program is coordinated by Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), Government of Maharashtra, where Wool Research Association, Thane is working as a technical partner & consultant.
