A carpet training programme for providing supplemental income for economic upliftment of underprivileged women in the rural areas of Chandrapur District, Maharashtra, is underway at four (04) talukas (i.e, Pombhurna, Mul, Saoli & Bramhapuri), where 02 nos. of Common Facility Centers (CFC) were set up for providing handmade carpet manufacturing techniques to rural women's in order to engage them in the production of handmade floor coverings as an alternate livelihood.
This empowerment program is coordinated by Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), Government of Maharashtra, where Wool Research Association, Thane is working as a technical partner & consultant.
Pombhurna carpet training centre was started on 16th September 2019 at Pombhurna taluka, Chandrapur dist., Maharashtra.
Saoli centre training centre was started on 26th January, 2022 at taluka saoli, Chandrapur dist., Maharashtra.
Mul carpet training centre was started on 25th November 2019 at Mul taluka, Chandrapur dist., Maharashtra
Bramhapuri carpet training centre was started on 22nd February, 2022 at Chandrapur dist., Maharashtra.
